Rudolph K. Kluiber is a managing member of GRT Capital Partners, LLC and a portfolio manager for the long/short and long only strategies within the firm. Mr. Kluiber has been involved with investment research and management since 1989.
Mr. Kluiber was the portfolio manager of the State Street Research Aurora Small Cap Value Fund from the fund's inception in 1995 until 2001. At the time of his departure from State Street Research and Management, Mr. Kluiber managed approximately $3 billion of assets in the Aurora Fund and related accounts. Except for 1998, Mr. Kluiber finished in the top quartile in each year from 1996 to 2000. For the five years ended March 31, 2001, the Aurora Fund was ranked number one in the small-cap value category by Lipper Analytics.
From August 1989 to October 1994, Mr. Kluiber was a high yield analyst, trader and assistant portfolio manager with State Street Research High Yield Fund. Mr. Kluiber analyzed a variety of industries including gaming companies, paper and forest products manufacturers, auto parts manufacturers, aerospace companies, retailers, chemical companies, oil service providers, soft drink bottling companies, packaging companies, and special situations.
Mr. Kluiber holds an AB in geology, cum laude, from Harvard College ('82) and an MBA from the Anderson School of the University of California Los Angeles ('89) where he was the recipient of the prestigious Carter award honoring the top 2% of the class. Mr. Kluiber is a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal Wessanen nv, and is also a CFA charterholder.
