John R. Wilson, Jr. is a Portfolio Manager and is primarily involved in the management of GRT BioEdge Ventures, LLC ("GRT BioEdge Ventures"). GRT BioEdge Ventures is focused on equity investments in privately held, emerging companies in the healthcare and biopharmaceutical sectors.
Mr. Wilson has been involved with investment management and research since 1986. He joined the Investment Manager in December 2014. From 2010 to 2013, he was a Managing Member of LHC Management, LLC an investment firm that controlled several privately held companies. From 2008 to 2009, he was an investment analyst at River Capital Advisors, Inc., providing assistance in the launch of a credit hedge fund. From late 2002 to 2008 he was a Portfolio Manager at Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management directly overseeing more than $350 million of client assets. While at Atlantic Trust Mr. Wilson was also a member of the Alternative Asset Committee. Mr. Wilson began his career in finance in 1986 as an institutional high yield bond salesman, and during his first 15 years, he worked at Kidder, Peabody, and Co., Inc., First Union Capital Markets, Inc., and Banc of America Securities, LLC.
Mr. Wilson holds a BA in economics from Northwestern University's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences (1986). He is also co-founder of the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research, a public charity that funds medical research around sarcoidosis and supports patients suffering from the disease. He holds the Charted Financial Analyst designation.
